AISFOR is pleased to announce the launch of the new e-learning platform ASSERT Academy, developed within the European project ASSERT (ASSist people with physical impairments in energy povERTy), funded by the LIFE program.
The platform represents an innovative digital space, designed to support training, knowledge sharing and strengthening the skills of public bodies, intermediary operators and stakeholders engaged in the fight against energy poverty affecting people with disabilities.
An accessible, multilingual and inclusive platform
ASSERT Academy has been designed to be fully accessible and usable by a wide and diverse audience. Available in multiple European languages, the platform allows users to easily navigate through content and access educational materials and in-depth resources. The interface is intuitive and built according to accessibility principles, with features that allow you to customize the user experience, facilitating use even by people with disabilities.
What the platform contains
The ASSERT Academy is divided into several main sections:
- Homepage, with an overview of the project, its objectives and planned activities;
- Official publications section, where reports containing the results of the project are available;
- ASSERT Library, a digital library that collects resources, tools, guidelines and training materials on topics such as:
- energy poverty
- disability
- Energy efficiency
- Gender
- Summer energy poverty
The resources were selected through a qualitative analysis and organized by type and target (municipalities, intermediaries, citizens), offering a complete and up-to-date point of reference.
Training course for municipalities and intermediaries is coming soon
One of the central elements of the platform will be the training programme for municipalities and intermediary organisations, which is currently being finalised and will soon be available online.
The course is designed to provide theoretical and practical skills useful for effectively addressing energy poverty, with an integrated approach that takes into account the needs of people with disabilities.

Each module will include didactic content, in-depth materials and online assessment quizzes, with specific adaptations for different national contexts (Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Cyprus).
A tool to strengthen local policies
ASSERT Academy is configured as a strategic training hub to support public decision-makers in the design of more effective and inclusive policies and intermediaries in accompanying people with disabilities towards an efficient use of domestic energy.
Through the platform, it will be possible to improve the ability of territories to identify situations of vulnerability, intervene in a targeted manner and promote a fair and sustainable energy transition.
